The Global Center for Gender Equality (GCfGE) has been building our programming and staff since our inception in 2019. Below you will find a more detailed look at our organization's growth and development. It’s important to understand and acknowledge where we have been to be able to appreciate and imagine where we are headed.

2016

GCfGE’s leaders begin consulting with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to launch a gender integration approach

2018

Launch of the Global Center for Gender Equality at Stanford University

2019

First contract with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support the Gender Equality team integrate a gender lens into the foundation's programming.

2020

GCfGE became an official Stanford Center within the School of Medicine, Neonatology Department.

2021

The Center began to take its deep gender integration expertise and see how it could be applied to other areas, such as high-impact philanthropy and the public sector leadership. 

2022

GCfGE moved to New Venture Fund, a fiscal sponsor to begin this next phase of its organizational development.
